Dr. Darren LaCharite graduated in 1979 from Traverse City High School. Upon graduation he went west to California in pursuit of an engineering degree and to cultivate his skills in college golf. It was while he was attending college things took a dramatic change.
On an evening drive Darren was struck by a drunk driver who had veered into his vehicle. Darren suffered from severe whiplash resulting in back and neck pain and relentless headaches. After months of traditional medical care and feeling little or no comfort, a friend referred him to a chiropractor. Relief was felt immediately. His interest in the practice grew. He studied more about the chiropractic philosophy, healthy lifestyle and conditions it could help. Darren changed his major and enrolled in the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic.
Graduating in 1987, Dr. Darren LaCharite was hired by the College as an assistant clinician in their clinic to promote research and progress his abilities in chiropractic, all while starting a small practice.
In 1991 an opportunity to move back to Northern Michigan came up and he joined a practice in Frankfort. One year later Dr. LaCharite purchased the practice. He opened his second practice in the town of Honor in 1995. He has been serving the Benzie county community ever since.
Dr. LaCharite is an avid hockey player who equally enjoys watching his son excel in the game. His other interests include golf, boating, paddle boarding, snowshoeing, reading and helping his patients achieve their health goals.
